Colour Masterbatch

We have a responsibility to thoroughly comply with industry regulations.

Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH)

A regulation adopted by the European Union (EU). The purpose is to improve the protection of the environment and human health created by chemicals. REACH applies to all chemical substances. REACH impacts on a wide range of companies across many sectors, even those who may not think of themselves as being involved with chemicals.

How are we REACH compliant? Burgess Colours and Compounds is a compliant downstream user, we are a ‘natural or legal person established within the community, other than the manufacturer or importer, who uses substances, either on its own or within a mixture, in the course of industrial or professional activity’.

Burgess Colours takes great pride in effectively managing the various chemicals used in our manufacturing processes.

Classification, Labelling & Packaging Regulation (CLP)

The purpose is to ensure a high level of protection of health and the environment, as well as the free movement of substances, mixtures and articles. CLP is to determine whether a substance or mixture displays properties that lead to a hazardous classification. In this context, classification is the starting point for hazard communication.

How are we CLP compliant? Even though the CLP does not directly affect downstream users like Burgess Colours and Compounds. We are aware of the regulation and its place within the market.

We also comply to European food contact standards AP 89(1) and EN-71 for use in toys, its various amendments and adaptations.
